Lead UX/UI Designer

LOCATION: SAN DIEGO, CA

The Lead UX/UI Designer is responsible for designing a friction-free, inspirational and overall delightful user experiences in our product. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior UX/UI skills and be able to translate high-level requirements into interaction flows and artifacts, and transform them into beautiful, intuitive, and functional user interfaces. This is a high-profile role working in a fast-paced environment and demands a dynamic individual with great communications skills, acumen and the ability to assimilate lots of information quickly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with product management and engineering to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals and experience
  • Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
  • Work with engineering to endure that the designs were implemented as intended
  • Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks
  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
  • Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to stakeholders
  • Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback
  • Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards
  • Deliver high quality of work, while running multiple projects at once, working independently under tight timelines

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of proven UX/UI experience
  • Demonstrable UX/UI design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and site maps
  • Proficiency in visual design and wire-framing tools
  • 5+ years of experience in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping. Angular a strong plus
  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
  • Ability to present your designs and sell your solutions to various stakeholders.
  • Up to date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
  • Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed
  • Solid team player

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s/ Master’s Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or related
